Esports Arena, North America's first dedicated esports facility, announced today a collaboration with Walmart to bring esports competitions and events to Walmart shoppers. Additionally, a new line of gaming PCs called OVERPOWERED by Esports Arena launched exclusively on Walmart.com. The OVERPOWERED line consists of three laptops and three desktop PCs all at competitive pricing and premium specs. Esports Arena will operate five locations within Walmart tenant spaces as an extension of their pre-existing arenas in Santa Ana and Oakland, CA. "We at Esports Arena could not be more excited about this collaboration with Walmart," said Tyler Endres, CEO of Esports Arena. "Walmart's incredible reach allows us to bring the esports experience to a much broader audience, and expand at a much faster rate."These new locations will operate similarly to Esports Arena’s other locations with league nights during the weekdays and tournaments on the weekends. Open play hours will exist daily for customers to train together, try out a new gaming product or game, or practice for an upcoming match. All arenas will be equipped with OVERPOWERED PCs, which were developed specifically for gamers by Esports Arena, and are available exclusively on Walmart.com
Through the collaboration with Walmart, Esports Arena associates will be able to help customers purchase gaming products within Walmart stores and on Walmart.com. And in the coming months, gaming content including streamed events from the in-store arenas, will be available on Walmart.com/EsportsArena along with Esports Arena merchandise such as the OVERPOWERED computers.
“We couldn’t think of a better way to provide a quality gaming experience to Walmart shoppers,” said Mario Pacini, VP of Entertainment, Walmart eCommerce U.S. “These Esports Arenas in three Walmart stores, with two additional locations coming, and the launch of OVERPOWERED, will bring unique new experiences to the millions of gamers that shop at Walmart.”
This weekend, Esports Arena will be opening inside Walmart stores in Roseville, CA, Spokane Valley, WA, and Colorado Springs, CO unveiling OVERPOWERED for the first time. Two additional locations are forthcoming.
